Trainee Teaching Assistant – Early Years (EYFS)

About the role

The school is seeking a Trainee Teaching Assistant to support the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) classroom in Wavertree, Liverpool. You will work alongside the class teacher to help create a safe, engaging learning environment for young pupils.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in preparing and clearing the classroom before and after lessons.
• Support pupils with classroom activities, lesson instructions and independent learning.
• Help manage behaviour and report any concerns.
• Supervise pupils during lunchtimes and welfare duties.
• Contribute to teaching of English, maths and phonics as directed.
• Follow all child protection, health & safety, equality and data protection policies.

Required profile

• Currently studying a TA, CACHE or childcare qualification.
• Committed to safeguarding and child welfare.
• Willing to work full‑time, Monday‑Friday, 8:30‑15:30.
• Ability to communicate clearly and work enthusiastically with young children.
