Trainee Teaching Assistant (Primary School, KS1)

About the role

This is a full‑time, temporary position supporting a KS1 classroom in a primary school located in Toxteth, Liverpool. As a Trainee Teaching Assistant you will work alongside the class teacher to help create a safe, engaging learning environment for young pupils.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in preparing lesson materials and resources.
• Support pupils during activities, helping with classroom management and positive behaviour.
• Promote independence by encouraging pupils to engage with lessons and overcome challenges.
• Provide help across core subjects such as English, mathematics and science.
• Supervise pupils during lunchtimes and ensure their safety.
• Follow school policies on safeguarding, equality, health & safety and data protection.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills and enthusiasm for working with children.
• Commitment to fostering pupil development and achievement.
• Currently studying towards a TA, CACHE or Childcare qualification.
