Transport Clerk – Rotating 4 on 4 off Shift

About the role

We are looking for a Transport Clerk to join our team at Asda Rochdale, reporting to the Transport Team Manager. The role involves supporting a fleet of drivers and transport colleagues, ensuring compliance with company guidelines and delivering first‑class service to the store network.

Key responsibilities

• Enter daily run sheets into spreadsheets and web‑based systems.
• File transport‑related documentation and handle general administrative tasks.
• Produce daily reports and communications, and complete small projects.
• Brief drivers at the start of each shift and de‑brief them via Microlise.
• Support fleet recovery and maintenance planning.
• Maintain communication with stores and ensure compliance with the Road Traffic Act and health & safety regulations.

Required profile

• Previous office experience with strong administration skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and adapt to a rotating 4‑on‑4‑off shift pattern.
• Self‑motivated, flexible and a good communicator at all levels.
