Transport Manager

About the role

Superdrug is looking for a Transport Manager to join its Supply Chain team at the Dunstable Distribution Centre. You will be responsible for the safe, compliant and cost‑effective delivery of stock to over 1,000 stores and third‑party hubs, working within a 7‑day operation.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver strong on‑time, in‑full (OTIF) performance for outbound store deliveries, inter‑DC trunking and third‑party movements.
• Act as joint holder of the UK Operators Licence, ensuring full compliance with DVSA, Health & Safety and other regulatory requirements.
• Lead, engage and develop a mixed workforce of permanent and agency transport colleagues.
• Own and control transport costs, including agency spend, fuel and vehicle utilisation.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain resilience of the transport operation.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing transport operations in a retail or distribution environment.
• Strong knowledge of DVSA regulations, health & safety standards and UK Operators Licence requirements.
• Ability to lead and develop teams, fostering a safety‑first culture.
• Flexibility to work a rota‑based schedule, including weekends, to ensure business continuity.
