Transport Operations Manager – Dartford

About the role

GXO Logistics is seeking a dynamic Transport Operations Manager to lead its 24/7 transport operation for a major Sainsbury's site in Dartford. You will own day‑to‑day delivery performance, safety and team development, ensuring the network runs smoothly for one of the UK’s leading retailers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the transport operation, guaranteeing safe, efficient delivery across the site.
• Manage and inspire drivers, shunters and Transport Team Managers to meet productivity and performance targets.
• Champion a safety‑first culture while supporting colleague wellbeing and engagement.
• Drive continuous improvement, meeting KPIs, budgets and customer expectations.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and ensure compliance with legal and customer requirements.

Required profile

• People‑first leader with proven experience in culture change and employee relations.
• Proactive, continuous‑improvement mindset within a transport environment.
• Calm under pressure, able to meet tight deadlines and cost targets.
• Strong communicator comfortable with internal and external stakeholders.
• Organised, adaptable and capable of leading change effectively.

Required skills

• International CPC qualification (mandatory).
