Transport Operator Nights

About the role

The Transport Operator (CB09) will work the night shift (10 pm‑6 am) at Stead House, Darlington. This full‑time position follows a 5/7 working pattern, requiring regular weekend and occasional lone working.

Key responsibilities

• Issue correct delivery instructions to drivers and de‑brief them after each trip.
• Optimise resources and coordinate closely with warehouse operations for seamless loading and dispatch.
• Liaise with the planning team, providing information and recommendations as needed.
• Provide feedback on driver performance and ensure vehicles and trailers follow service schedules.
• Book maintenance and repairs with the appropriate workshop.
• Accurately complete administration procedures and KPI support information.
• Act as first point of contact for stores regarding schedule changes and daily issues.
• Deliver effective shift handovers and support colleagues, Team Leaders, and the Transport Manager.
