Transport Planner – Food Logistics

About the role

Transport Planner – Food Logistics – based in Lisburn (Belfast area). The role involves planning and coordinating deliveries for a growing logistics business, ensuring efficient, cost‑effective transport across Northern Ireland, Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland while maintaining high customer service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and allocate customer orders to transport and drivers.
• Assign delivery requirements and confirm booking dates.
• Build efficient delivery schedules to maximise fleet utilisation.
• Manage delivery requests and resolve issues impacting service levels.
• Maintain strong relationships with drivers and customers.
• Produce transport reports, schedules and operational information.
• Liaise with Customer Service and Sales teams to ensure accurate order information.
• Communicate proactively with customers about delivery changes.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve transport efficiency and service delivery.

Required profile

• Recent experience as a Transport Planner or in a similar logistics role.
• Strong geographical knowledge of NI, ROI and GB.
• Commercial awareness and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Proactive, independent and able to work calmly under pressure.

What we offer

• Salary up to £45,000 per year (£34,000‑£45,000 depending on experience).
• Full‑time permanent contract, Monday‑Friday working pattern (alternative shift patterns available).
