Transport Planner – International Road Operations

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join an award‑winning logistics company in Hemel Hempstead. In this pivotal position you will plan and coordinate international road transport operations, ensuring smooth deliveries across multiple countries. The role is full‑time, hybrid and requires a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and schedule daily international and cross‑border road transport operations, optimising routes and resources.
• Collaborate with drivers and partner hauliers to ensure schedules are met and operations stay on track.
• Monitor vehicle movements and transport flows to maintain efficiency.
• Prioritise outstanding shipments, manage collections and deliveries, and ensure accurate data entry in the transport system.
• Handle queries promptly to maintain high service quality.

Required profile

• 3‑4 years of route planning and optimisation experience in an international road transport environment, preferably with HGV trucks.
• Strong knowledge of legal compliance and transport regulations.
• Proven ability to manage challenging interactions with hauliers and drivers.
• Committed to quality, reliability and continuous improvement.
