Transport Planner

About the role

GXO Logistics is seeking a Transport Planner to join its national planning centre in Warrington. You will be responsible for creating efficient daily routes for B&Q products across the UK, ensuring safe and on‑time delivery while optimising resource utilisation.

Key responsibilities

• Plan efficient daily routes throughout the UK, minimising empty runs and maximising resource use.
• Ensure all plans comply with drivers’ hours regulations and the Working Time Directive.
• Proactively sub‑contract work while maintaining required profit margins.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to meet customer budgets and service agreements.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with planning teams and transport operations.
• Strong customer‑service focus and excellent communication skills.
• Good geographical knowledge of the United Kingdom.
• Flexibility to work varied shift patterns (e.g., 7:00 am–6:00 pm).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Paragon routing and scheduling software.
• Microsoft Office suite – particularly Word and Excel.
