Transport Planner / Sales Support

About the role

This dual position combines transport planning with sales support, offering a varied day‑to‑day environment at a Cambridge‑area business. You will be responsible for organising deliveries, maintaining vehicle compliance and assisting the sales team with customer interactions.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and plan customer deliveries, optimising routes while respecting driving regulations.
• Book vehicle maintenance, monitor compliance, and record tachograph data.
• Assist the sales team by handling inbound calls and supporting order processing.
• Prepare and collate orders for dispatch, considering weight, volume and timing constraints.
• Liaise with drivers to schedule work hours and allocate appropriate vehicles.
• Arrange dispatch via pallet carriers, postal services and other methods.
• Communicate delivery status updates to customers.
• Oversee forklift servicing, repairs and prompt resolution of vehicle defects.
• Maintain accurate records for inspection and reporting purposes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in logistics coordination and sales support.
• Knowledge of CPC certification and tachograph regulations.
• Familiarity with the local area to maximise route efficiency.
• Strong organisational ability and capacity to manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, can‑do attitude.
