Transport Planning Coordinator – 4 on/4 off, Hybrid

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Transport Planning Coordinator to join a global business based in Hemel Hempstead. The role operates on a 4‑on/4‑off shift pattern, offering a strong work‑life balance and hybrid working options. You will plan and coordinate road transport movements across the UK, working closely with customers, hauliers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily UK road transport movements, reviewing orders and prioritising requirements.
• Design efficient routes and consolidate loads to maximise vehicle utilisation and minimise empty mileage.
• Select cost‑effective transport solutions while maintaining agreed customer service levels.
• Arrange transport with approved hauliers and manage collection and delivery times.
• Monitor live transport operations, resolve issues promptly and keep the Transport Management System up to date.
• Provide operational data for KPI reporting and support the wider operations team with process improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience routing and planning HGV drivers and working with hauliers.
• Good understanding of the UK freight, transport or logistics industry.
• Excellent organisational, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Confidence making operational decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with customers, hauliers and colleagues.

What we offer

• £33,000 basic salary with up to 8 % performance‑related bonus.
• 4‑days working / 4‑days off shift pattern (approximately 37.5 hours per week).
