Transport Supervisor / Manager

About the role

This is a hands‑on Transport Supervisor / Manager position within a fast‑paced retail distribution environment. You will be responsible for the day‑to‑day running of transport operations, ensuring deliveries are executed on time, in full, and in line with compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily transport operations across a retail distribution network.
• Manage driver schedules, route planning and delivery performance.
• Ensure full compliance with UK transport regulations (drivers' hours, WTD, vehicle checks).
• Act as the first point of contact for drivers, handling issues and resolving disruptions quickly.
• Monitor KPIs related to service, cost and efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with warehouse and distribution teams to ensure smooth end‑to‑end operations.
• Maintain high standards of safety, compliance and customer service.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a Transport Supervisor or Manager role within retail logistics and supply chain.
• Strong understanding of UK transport compliance and operational standards.
• Demonstrated ability to manage drivers and coordinate daily transport activity.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced retail or distribution environment.
• Organised, proactive and able to make decisions under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills for managing drivers and internal stakeholders.
