Transport Team Coordinator - Nights

About the role

The Bread Factory is looking for a night‑time Transport Team Coordinator to oversee van and driver allocation, ensure smooth deliveries, and support our logistics team during the 10 pm‑7 am shift. You will act as the main point of contact for drivers, maintain accurate records, and help resolve any transport‑related issues.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate vans and drivers to routes while maintaining service levels and efficiency.
• Distribute keys and equipment to drivers, ensuring traceability and legal compliance.
• Serve as the primary contact for drivers throughout the night shift, tracking deliveries and supporting operations.
• Maintain accurate transport paperwork, including invoices and vehicle check sheets.
• Compile daily reports on trade performance, complaints, and key transport metrics.
• Assist with loading products into driver vans for seamless dispatch.
• Mentor and support drivers, especially new starters, to improve performance.
• Oversee driver safety, legal compliance, and adherence to food‑safety and H&S procedures.
• Cover Assistant Transport Managers during absences and handle ad‑hoc departmental tasks.
• Step in to cover delivery routes when required.
