Transport Team Manager – Night Shift

About the role

GXO Logistics is seeking an experienced Transport Team Manager to lead our night‑shift operations at the Sainsbury's site in Waltham Abbey. You will be responsible for ensuring deliveries are completed safely, on time and in full while fostering a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day transport operations during the 4‑on/4‑off night shift (18:00‑06:00).
• Drive compliance with transport legislation, tachograph records, security requirements and internal audits.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to minimise delays and maximise fleet availability.
• Monitor performance data, produce operational reports and identify improvement opportunities.
• Develop and motivate driver and admin teams through coaching, recruitment, performance reviews and incident investigations.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of transport operations, driver compliance and the Working Time Directive.
• Highly organised, detail‑oriented and able to prioritise workloads in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with drivers, colleagues and stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
