Travel Industry Business Development Manager

About the role

The Business Development Manager will drive growth for a leading international tour operator by managing existing UK‑focused accounts and uncovering new opportunities across the travel market. The role is home‑based, allowing you to work remotely while building strong relationships with clients and promoting the UK and Ireland as premier destinations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and develop relationships with current client accounts, acting as the primary point of contact.
• Identify, pursue and close new business opportunities within the UK travel sector.
• Design, quote and deliver complex touring programmes tailored to client needs.
• Generate and follow up sales leads, ensuring a robust pipeline.
• Present and promote the company’s products and services to prospective and existing clients.
• Attend client meetings, travel exhibitions and trade shows as required.

Required profile

• Extensive sales experience within a Destination Management Company or Travel Management Company.
• In‑depth knowledge of the UK and Ireland as travel destinations.
• Excellent communication, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Proactive, confident and dynamic personality with strong multitasking skills.
• Fluency in one or more of Italian, Spanish, French, German or Portuguese is a strong advantage.
• Comfortable using standard IT tools.

• IT literacy (standard office software).
