Treaty Broker

About the role

We are seeking a Treaty Broker to join a well‑established Lloyd's insurance broker operating from the City and Southend. The role focuses on Non‑Marine and Property XL treaty business, handling both new business and renewals in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage new and renewal enquiries for Non‑Marine and Property XL treaties.
• Work closely with underwriters to place risks and negotiate terms.
• Submit risks, endorsements, slips and lineslip declarations to the market.
• Arrange appropriate reinsurance cover, especially for complex cases.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, underwriters and market participants.
• Provide technical advice on risk management and coverage.
• Support senior stakeholders on broking activities and assist with claims handling when required.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal procedures and maintain accurate records.

Required profile

• Experience within a Lloyd's broking environment, preferably with Non‑Marine or Property treaty business.
• Proven ability to work in a busy, demanding setting while managing multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building client and insurer relationships.
• Solid technical understanding of reinsurance products and market practices.
• Organisationally proactive with high attention to detail.
• Progress towards or completion of CII qualifications is advantageous.
