Tree Surgeon – Seasonal Arboriculture Role

About the role

This seasonal position involves conducting tree inspections and surveys for Orbit Group’s owned trees across the South and East regions of England. You will work both on‑site in the field and from an office/home base to process inspection data and produce technical reports.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out cyclical tree inspections and risk assessments across Sussex, Surrey, Kent and Brighton.
• Record tree condition, species, age, amenity value and any pest or disease signs.
• Produce technical reports and advise on remedial or maintenance actions.
• Monitor a proportion of contractor work to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Support tree‑planting, woodland creation and biodiversity initiatives in line with environmental objectives.

Required profile

• Minimum Level 3 Diploma in Arboriculture or equivalent qualification.
• Basic DBS check.
• Experience in tree inspection, risk assessment and maintenance techniques.
• Knowledge of British Standards 5837 and 3998 and relevant health‑and‑safety legislation.

What we offer

• £21.13 per hour via PAYE or £28 per hour via umbrella
• 12‑week contract starting Monday 27 July
