Trust Doctor – Acute Medicine & Same Day Emergency Care (ST3+)

About the role

The Trust Doctor (ST3+ equivalent) will join the Acute Medicine and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) team at Whipps Cross Hospital on a one‑year fixed‑term contract, with the possibility of extension. This position is ideal for doctors who have completed foundation and core medical training and have passed MRCP parts 1 and 2, seeking focused experience in acute medicine.

Key responsibilities

• Rotate through the Acute Assessment Unit (AAU) and the SDEC service.
• Contribute to the development and expansion of the SDEC pathway.
• Participate in quality‑improvement projects and departmental research.
• Cover out‑of‑hours shifts, including evenings and weekends, on the SDEC rota.

Required profile

• Completed foundation and core medical training (or equivalent).
• Successful completion of MRCP parts 1 and 2 (full MRCP preferred).
• Motivated to gain specialised acute‑medicine experience.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as part of the out‑of‑hours rota.
