Trust Doctor in Trauma & Orthopaedic (ST3+)

About the role

The Trust Doctor will be a vital member of the Trauma & Orthopaedic department, providing care for both acute trauma and elective orthopaedic patients. Working under the supervision of a named consultant, you will deliver fracture and elective outpatient clinics, perform surgical procedures and take part in the on‑call trauma rota.

Key responsibilities

• Run fracture and elective outpatient clinics.
• Perform surgical operations in trauma and elective cases.
• Participate in the registrar‑grade acute trauma on‑call rota, including overnight and weekend duties.
• Supervise and engage junior colleagues.
• Collaborate with Advanced Orthopaedic Practitioners and the multidisciplinary team.
• Order and act on investigations for in‑patient and out‑patient care.
• Complete documentation and requests promptly.
• Contribute to audit and governance activities.

Required profile

• Qualified doctor at ST3 level or above.
• Ability to work under consultant supervision.
• Commitment to patient‑centred care in both trauma and elective settings.
