Trust Doctor (ST1-2) – Geriatric Medicine (12‑month Fixed Term)

About the role

The NHS Trust is seeking a Trust Doctor (ST1‑2 equivalent) for a 12‑month fixed‑term position in Geriatric Medicine. You will join the Older People’s Services team and work across a variety of settings, including the Older People’s Assessment Unit, virtual ward, surgical liaison, orthogeriatrics and general older‑people wards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide acute and comprehensive geriatric care across multiple clinical areas.
• Participate in the virtual ward and older peoples assessment unit to optimise patient flow.
• Deliver surgical liaison and orthogeriatric services, supporting peri‑operative patients.
• Contribute to outpatient clinics, Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment clinics and rehabilitation programmes.
• Manage complex medical and psychosocial cases within a frail, often dementia‑affected population.

Required profile

• Current full registration with the General Medical Council.
• MRCP Part 1 completed (essential).
• Broad experience across medical subspecialties relevant to older‑people care.
• Commitment to patient safety, inclusive values and multidisciplinary teamwork.
