Tutor (1:1 Support for SEN/SEMH Students)

About the role
Prospero Teaching is seeking compassionate tutors to provide one‑to‑one tuition for young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. The role starts immediately and will continue into the new academic year, supporting learners in Ringwood and surrounding areas.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging 1:1 sessions that meet individual student needs.
- Assess and monitor progress, giving constructive feedback to help learners achieve their potential.
- Record attendance, progress and weekly reports accurately.
- Maintain a calm, fair and adaptable learning environment.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure consistent safeguarding and wellbeing practices.
Required profile
- Nurturing, caring nature with patience and empathy.
- Understanding of the National Curriculum for secondary‑aged pupils.
- Experience (minimum 6 months) working with learners who have SEN/SEMH needs.
- Organised, dependable and creative approach to teaching.
Required skills
- Ability to teach English, Maths and optionally Science to secondary students.
- Strong communication and assessment skills.
