Tutor for SEN/SEMH Students (Part‑time)

About the role
Prospero Teaching is seeking compassionate tutors to support secondary‑aged learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) requirements in Southampton and surrounding areas. The role involves one‑to‑one tuition aimed at re‑engaging students with education and helping them achieve their potential.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging 1:1 sessions tailored to individual student needs.
- Assess and monitor progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Record student progress and attendance on a weekly basis.
- Maintain accurate records and reports for each learner.
- Adapt teaching approaches to be calm, fair and flexible.
Required profile
- Nurturing, caring and patient nature.
- Understanding of the National Curriculum.
- Organised and dependable.
- Experience working with secondary pupils in English, Maths and optionally Science.
- Minimum six months of educational experience, preferably with SEN/SEMH learners.
