Tutor for SEN/SEMH Support (Full/Part Time)

About the role
Prospero Teaching is seeking compassionate and innovative tutors to support young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. You will work one‑to‑one with secondary‑aged learners in Bournemouth, Winchester and surrounding areas, helping them re‑engage with education and reach their potential.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging 1:1 tuition sessions tailored to each student’s needs.
- Assess progress, provide constructive feedback and monitor development weekly.
- Record attendance and maintain accurate progress reports.
- Adapt teaching approaches to be calm, fair and flexible.
Required profile
- Nurturing, patient and empathetic attitude.
- Understanding of the National Curriculum for secondary pupils.
- Experience (minimum 6 months) working with learners who have SEN/SEMH needs.
- Right to work in the UK and willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS check.
Required skills
- Ability to teach English, Mathematics and optionally Science.
