UK Business Development Manager - Lab & Pharma Equipment

About the role

This UK Business Development Manager role drives sales and builds strong client relationships within the life‑science sector. You will promote specialised laboratory, pharmaceutical and capital equipment to manufacturers, biotech firms, research labs and other life‑science organisations across the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Drive sales growth for a portfolio of laboratory, pharmaceutical and technical capital equipment solutions.
• Develop new business opportunities with pharma manufacturers, biotech companies, CDMOs, research laboratories, universities and healthcare organisations.
• Build relationships with decision‑makers across scientific, engineering, operations, manufacturing, procurement and leadership functions.
• Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and qualification to proposal development, negotiation and contract award.
• Grow existing customer relationships and identify opportunities for additional revenue and strategic partnerships.
• Collaborate closely with internal technical and commercial teams to deliver tailored solutions.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer developments to uncover new commercial opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven track record in business development or technical sales within regulated industries.
• Experience selling laboratory equipment, scientific instrumentation, pharmaceutical equipment, cleanroom or engineering solutions.
• Strong new‑business development and prospecting abilities.
• Ability to manage consultative sales processes involving multiple stakeholders.
• Experience engaging with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, laboratory, healthcare or scientific research markets.
