UK Influencing Lead

About the role

The UK Influencing Lead will provide strategic leadership for Christian Aid’s advocacy work across the United Kingdom. Reporting to the Head of Policy and Influencing, the role shapes and delivers the influencing strategy, representing the organisation in government and coalition spaces.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and own the UK Influencing Strategy, aligning it with mobilisation and movement‑building work.
• Represent Christian Aid in UK advocacy forums, coalitions and media as a spokesperson.
• Lead external engagement with senior government ministers, MPs, civil servants, private‑sector partners, faith leaders and INGO networks.
• Collaborate with the Campaigns & Youth Lead and matrix‑manage the Campaigns Advisor to ensure a cohesive approach.
• Drive growth strategy for UK aid and related government funding opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven strategic leadership experience in advocacy or public policy.
• Strong ability to influence senior decision‑makers and build effective coalitions.
• Excellent communication and media representation skills.
• Experience working across government, faith, private‑sector and civil‑society stakeholders.
