Underwriter - Marine Logistics

About the role

We are seeking an Underwriter (or Senior Underwriter) to join our Marine Logistics team in London. You will evaluate and price logistics risks, work closely with brokers and clients, and help grow a profitable portfolio within the marine sector.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, price and underwrite complex logistics risks in line with company guidelines and market conditions.
• Analyse technical documentation, loss records, surveys and financial information to make informed decisions.
• Structure policy terms, conditions and endorsements tailored to client needs.
• Maintain underwriting discipline, ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards.
• Manage a renewable book of business, monitoring profitability and strategic alignment.
• Track performance metrics, identify loss trends and propose corrective actions.
• Contribute to underwriting strategy, pricing models and product enhancements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, capacity providers and industry partners.
• Represent the company at market meetings, broker visits and industry events.
• Identify new opportunities and support sustainable growth initiatives within the marine segment.

Required profile

• Deep knowledge of marine logistics insurance and related risk factors.
• Strong analytical judgement and ability to interpret technical and financial data.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain high‑value broker and client relationships.
• Focus on portfolio growth, profitability and strategic objectives.
