Underwriting Audit Manager (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Underwriting Audit Manager to lead the underwriting audit function for a specialist commercial insurer operating in the Lloyd's and London Market. The role is hybrid, based in London, and offers the chance to shape the underwriting controls framework while managing a dedicated team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of three Underwriting Auditors.
• Manage the underwriting audit programme across the business.
• Strengthen and develop the underwriting controls framework.
• Build strong relationships with Heads of Underwriting and senior stakeholders.
• Present audit findings and recommendations to senior committees.
• Monitor audit actions through to completion.
• Oversee underwriting authorities and governance processes.
• Support regulatory, compliance and wider underwriting oversight activities.
• Contribute to business and operational improvement projects.

Required profile

• Previous management experience leading an Underwriting Audit or Underwriting Controls team.
• Strong background in Underwriting Audit, Controls, Governance or Operations.
• Experience within the Lloyd's and/or London Market.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to influence senior underwriting leaders and drive continuous improvement.
