Underwriting Manager

About the role

Intrum, a leading provider of credit management services across 20 European markets, is looking for an Underwriting Manager in Reigate. The role leads a small team of analysts and covers forecasting, pricing, portfolio analysis and valuation, within an international and supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a small team of analysts to ensure knowledge transfer and business objectives are met.
• Run forecasting and pricing models, including sensitivities and interpretation of results.
• Process, manipulate, analyse, present and interpret the characteristics of financial portfolios.
• Support and compile portfolio Investment Memorandums (IMs).
• Support portfolio valuations across different jurisdictions.
• Develop and maintain tools, models and materials to improve portfolio analysis and valuation.
• Deliver high-quality outputs, good customer service and excellent communication with stakeholders, meeting deadlines without disrupting business decisions.
• Carry out other ad hoc tasks delegated by the Senior Underwriting Manager.

Required profile

• Experience as a Senior Investment Analyst or similar role.
• University degree with high marks in an analytical or financial subject such as mathematics, statistics or economics.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Statistical experience with large data sets and data modelling techniques.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, numeracy and problem-solving ability.
• Good communicator and able to work independently in a fast-paced, pressured environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in R and SQL; other programming languages welcome.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
