Underwriting Operations Assistant

About the role

This position is with a fast‑growing Managing General Agent (MGA) that offers a diverse portfolio of insurance products. The Underwriting Operations Assistant will work closely with underwriters, brokers and internal teams to ensure smooth processing of policies and high‑quality client service.

Key responsibilities

• Support underwriting teams by entering risk and policy data into operating systems within defined SLAs.
• Issue policy documentation, produce and check slips and endorsements, and ensure all files are stored correctly.
• Review and resolve queries related to claim premium receipts.
• Conduct peer reviews and quality‑assurance checks.
• Maintain communication with brokers to obtain client information and resolve issues.
• Complete month‑end and close‑out tasks and attend team meetings.
• Assist in training new team members when required.
• Identify operational inefficiencies and lead transformation initiatives.
• Proactively correct operational errors to preserve data integrity.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an insurance environment with a desire to build a career in insurance operations.
• Highly organised, able to manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Team‑oriented mindset, supporting colleagues to meet business objectives.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
