Uniformed Services Lecturer – FE Teaching Role

About the role

Reed is recruiting experienced Uniformed Services Lecturers for a range of well‑established Further Education providers. You will inspire learners who aim to pursue careers in the Armed Forces, Police, Fire & Rescue, Prison Service, Border Force and other public service sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver high‑quality Uniformed Services lessons across multiple levels.
• Assess, monitor and record student progress, providing constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate teaching records in line with college policies.
• Create an inclusive, positive learning environment that promotes teamwork and leadership.
• Support learners in understanding the roles, values and professional standards of uniformed public services.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or qualification in Public Services, Criminology, Leadership, Sport or a related field.
• Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training or equivalent).
• Experience teaching Uniformed Services or Public Services in FE, HE, secondary or adult learning settings.
• Strong classroom management and communication abilities.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

• Ability to engage and motivate learners of varying abilities.
