University Summer Housekeeper (June‑September)

About the role

This temporary position supports a major East London university during the busy summer accommodation period. You will join a dedicated cleaning team to keep student bedrooms and communal areas tidy and welcoming from June to September.

Key responsibilities

• Clean bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, corridors and shared spaces.
• Hoover, mop, dust and perform general housekeeping tasks.
• Deep‑clean fridges and freezers.
• Assist with check‑in and check‑out weekends.
• Strip bedding, handle light laundry and restock supplies.
• Empty bins across the estate and report maintenance issues.
• Use cleaning equipment safely and effectively.

Required profile

• Previous experience in cleaning or housekeeping.
• Excellent reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic.
• Availability for at least 25 hours per week for the full June‑September period.
• Flexibility to work any day of the week on a rotating roster.
• Good communication skills and a calm, professional approach.

Required skills

• Safe operation of standard cleaning equipment (vacuum cleaners, mops, etc.).
