Unqualified Teacher

About the role

Prospero Teaching is looking for confident, motivated individuals to work as Unqualified Teachers in schools across Eastleigh. This position offers classroom experience for cover supervisors, teaching assistants, tutors, coaches, graduates and aspiring teachers who want to develop their teaching skills.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑planned lessons and learning activities across primary, secondary and SEN settings.
• Lead classes independently while maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Support pupils to engage with tasks, complete work and monitor progress.
• Manage classroom behaviour consistently and adapt approaches to meet diverse pupil needs.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff and build constructive relationships with pupils and colleagues.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children or young people (e.g., cover supervisor, teaching assistant, tutor, coach).
• Ability to manage groups of pupils independently.
• Strong communication and classroom leadership skills.
• Resilient, adaptable and proactive attitude.
• Passion for supporting young people and education.

Required skills

• None specified – role focuses on classroom management and delivery of pre‑planned lessons.
