Urban Designer – Newcastle

About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the North East's leading multidisciplined RIBA chartered practices, offering expertise across residential, masterplanning, commercial and education sectors. They are looking for a talented Urban Designer to hit the ground running in their Newcastle team.

Key responsibilities

• Support the preparation of masterplans, frameworks and urban design proposals.
• Produce plans, diagrams, presentations and design material.
• Undertake site and contextual analysis.
• Assist with feasibility studies and design development.
• Contribute to design codes, design guidance and planning documents.
• Support the preparation of planning applications and associated material.
• Produce high‑quality visualisations and presentation material.
• Work collaboratively with architects, planners, consultants and clients.

Required profile

• A relevant degree in Urban Design, Town Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience as an Urban Designer within a UK practice or consultancy.
• A genuine interest in urban design, placemaking and the built environment.
• Strong graphic and presentation skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• A creative and analytical approach to problem solving.
• Good attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
