US Casualty Binders Claims Adjuster – London

About the role

We are seeking a US Casualty Binders Claims Adjuster to join a leading insurer operating in the Lloyd’s of London market. Based in London, the successful candidate will oversee US casualty claims written under delegated authority arrangements, ensuring effective control and handling throughout the claims lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Manage US casualty claims arising from delegated authority arrangements, including third‑party liability, bodily injury, property damage and related exposures.
• Conduct coverage analysis and provide technical direction on liability, quantum, reserving and settlement strategy.
• Act as a referral point for complex, large loss or coverage‑sensitive claims and review coverage positions, reservations of rights, declinatures and settlement recommendations.
• Monitor loss funds, large loss development and financial movements across binder portfolios.
• Support actuarial, finance and management reporting with high‑quality commentary and claims insights.
• Participate in audits, peer reviews and internal assurance activities related to delegated claims.
• Collaborate with underwriting, compliance, actuarial and legal teams and contribute to underwriting, broker, coverholder and TPA meetings.

Required profile

• Proven experience handling or overseeing US casualty claims, preferably within a binder or delegated authority environment.
• Strong technical understanding of liability coverage, policy interpretation and the claims lifecycle.
• Experience working with TPAs, DCAs or outsourced claims providers.
• Sound knowledge of reserving principles and claims financial controls.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to challenge constructively and influence stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Lloyd’s or market delegated authority frameworks is advantageous.
• Experience supporting audits, coverholder reviews or performance improvement plans is desirable.
