US Liability Underwriter – Professional Indemnity

About the role

We are seeking an experienced US Liability Underwriter with a focus on Professional Indemnity to join a rapidly growing specialist Managing General Agent operating in the London insurance market. You will work within an established underwriting team, handling US open‑market liability risks and contributing to the expansion of a profitable portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite US open‑market liability exposures, with particular emphasis on Professional Indemnity.
• Assess complex submissions, negotiate terms and pricing, and ensure underwriting profitability.
• Maintain and develop strong broker relationships across the US market.
• Collaborate with the team to grow the US liability portfolio and support the company’s expansion strategy.
• Monitor market trends and provide technical underwriting expertise.

Required profile

• Proven experience underwriting US Liability business, preferably with a focus on Professional Indemnity.
• Strong technical underwriting capabilities and a thorough understanding of the US liability marketplace.
• Experience handling open‑market business and managing broker interactions.
• Commercial acumen and the ability to make sound underwriting decisions in a growth‑focused environment.
