Utility Consulting Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Utility Consulting Engineer to join our Design team in London, with remote working available and occasional office visits. The role involves advising clients on electricity, gas, water and telecoms connections and delivering utility infrastructure projects from feasibility through to completion.

Key responsibilities

• Lead utility connection projects from concept to delivery, managing programme schedules and budgets.
• Conduct feasibility studies, due‑diligence assessments and develop infrastructure design strategies.
• Serve as the primary liaison with utility providers, regulators and project teams.
• Identify and mitigate utility‑related risks, including network constraints and asset considerations.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, project management or a related field (or working towards one).
• Strong experience in the UK utility sector, preferably within a consultancy or B2B environment.
• Knowledge of utility market dynamics, competition in connections and relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Proven ability to procure and manage utility works for developers or large projects.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and report‑writing skills.
