UX/UI Product Designer – Mobile App (6‑month contract)

About the role

We are looking for a UX/UI Product Designer to join a fast‑paced product team developing a mobile application for end users. The role is a six‑month contract based in Edinburgh with a hybrid working model (three days in the office each week). You will be the sole designer on the product, collaborating closely with product managers, engineers and the wider design community.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end UX/UI design process, from research and wire‑framing to high‑fidelity mock‑ups and interactive prototypes.
• Conduct user research activities such as usability testing, interviews and feedback analysis to inform design decisions.
• Create intuitive, engaging mobile app experiences using Figma and related visual design tools.
• Work closely with product managers, engineers and other designers to deliver cohesive, user‑centred solutions.
• Maintain consistency with existing design systems while identifying and proposing improvements.
• Iterate designs based on user feedback, data insights and evolving product requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in UX/UI or product design, preferably for mobile applications.
• Ability to work independently and confidently as the sole designer on a product.
• Understanding of designing for diverse user groups and cultural contexts.
• Interest in leveraging AI tools to enhance design processes.
