Valve Engineer

About the role

Petrofac is seeking a Valve Engineer to support the maintenance planning and valve management of its regional assets. The role involves coordinating valve requests, overseeing equipment repairs, and ensuring compliance with industry standards across on‑shore and off‑shore operations.

Key responsibilities

• Understand current maintenance planning and demand management for regional assets.
• Manage the Valve Request System (VRS) and associated workflow.
• Chair bi‑weekly progress meetings with assets and BP’s valve management contractor.
• Rationalise and approve equipment repairs and disposals.
• Act as focal point for valve‑related equipment issues in the field.
• Conduct PSV RBI reviews and approvals.
• Support contract management for valve services and improve contract performance.
• Investigate, support, and approve valve‑related eMoC, EQ, and IRIS actions.
• Provide break‑in TAR support as required.
• Identify efficiency improvement opportunities and contribute to material master improvement programs.
• Attend supplier and BP meetings and ensure compliance with BP procedures.

Required profile

• Technical education or degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., mechanical apprenticeship, national qualification, university degree).
• Extensive experience resolving technical issues with isolation valves in the oil and gas industry.
• Proficiency with office and technical computerised applications.
• Familiarity with international standards such as API and ASME.
• Knowledge of valve‑related technical specifications and a customer‑focused mindset.
