VAT Accountant

About the role
Our client, a global pharmaceutical company, is seeking a VAT Accountant to join their finance team in Chester on a 12‑month temporary basis. You will be responsible for managing VAT returns, reconciliations and reporting while providing advice on VAT queries across European and international markets.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and other tax filings, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Obtain VAT submission approvals from internal stakeholders.
- Create VAT and sales general ledger reconciliations.
- Respond to VAT‑related queries, liaising with both internal and external parties as required.
Required profile
- Pan‑European VAT accounting experience.
- Degree‑level education in accounting, finance or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical ability and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Required skills
- Good understanding of SAP or Oracle.
- Proficient Excel skills.
