About the role

The VAT Compliance Manager will lead the VAT reporting and compliance function for a portfolio of professional services clients in Bristol. This permanent position offers the chance to provide expert advice, ensure timely VAT returns and support clients through audits.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and oversee VAT compliance for a diverse client portfolio.
• Prepare, review and submit accurate VAT returns within statutory deadlines.
• Provide expert guidance on VAT legislation and its impact on client operations.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase compliance efficiency.
• Support clients during VAT audits and liaise with tax authorities as required.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver seamless service.
• Monitor regulatory changes and communicate updates to clients and colleagues.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of VAT regulations and compliance processes.
• Relevant qualifications in accounting, tax or finance.
• Proven experience in VAT compliance within the professional services sector.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
