VAT Manager – Advisory & Client Ownership

About the role

Join a specialist VAT team at a highly regarded accountancy and tax advisory firm. The role focuses on delivering advisory work, owning client relationships and contributing to practice development.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients, providing high‑quality VAT advisory support.
• Respond to ad‑hoc VAT queries from clients, partners and colleagues across the business.
• Conduct VAT reviews, due‑diligence work and other consultancy projects independently.
• Review advice and calculations prepared by junior team members and liaise with HMRC when required.

Required profile

• Strong VAT advisory experience.
• Previous experience in a practice environment with confidence working directly with clients.
• Ability to manage your own workload independently while contributing to a wider team.
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical matters clearly in writing and verbally.
