VAT Senior Manager

About the role

Ambition Europe Limited is seeking a VAT Senior Manager to join its fast‑growing Indirect Tax practice in London. You will work with major clients across multiple sectors, delivering high‑quality VAT advice while enjoying a supportive, hybrid working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead client engagements and provide expert VAT advice.
• Act as the primary point of contact for senior client stakeholders.
• Manage and develop high‑performing teams, mentoring junior staff.
• Oversee technical research and translate complex tax matters into practical solutions.
• Identify new business opportunities and grow client relationships.
• Stay ahead of developments such as e‑invoicing, digital VAT reporting and AI in tax.
• Support senior leadership on strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• Extensive VAT experience gained in practice, industry or a regulatory environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK VAT legislation and case law.
• Proven track record delivering complex advisory work and leading client engagements.
• Experience managing and developing teams.
• Professional qualification (ATT, CTA or equivalent preferred).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive approach to identifying opportunities and owning client portfolios.
