Vehicle Mechanic – Heavy Military Vehicles

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Vehicle Mechanic to join a specialist engineering team that maintains, repairs and overhauls heavy military vehicles. You will work in a secure, professional environment, supporting a diverse fleet of defence assets while developing your expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair heavy military vehicles and associated equipment.
• Diagnose faults in mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Carry out vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Follow engineering instructions, technical publications and repair procedures.
• Complete maintenance records, inspection reports and supporting documentation.
• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas to high standards.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance, Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or a related discipline.
• Proven experience with heavy‑duty, HGV or military vehicles.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Successful DBS and BPSS security check.
