About the role
We are looking for a skilled Vehicle Mechanic to join the fleet team of a public‑sector client in the Sighthill area of Edinburgh. The role is full‑time, Monday‑Friday, delivering 36 hours of hands‑on vehicle maintenance and repair.
Key responsibilities
- Repair and maintain cars to VOSA and manufacturer standards.
- Perform MOT testing where required.
- Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment and rectify them.
- Request and manage parts needed for repairs.
- Complete both paper and electronic documentation to keep accurate service records.
- Clean and prepare vehicles for use.
- Support the wider fleet team to ensure cost‑effective work delivery.
Required profile
- Previous experience as a car or fleet mechanic.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Willingness to start as soon as possible.
Required skills
- Vehicle diagnostic equipment operation.
- MOT testing procedures.
- Compliance with VOSA/manufacturer standards.
- Car repair and maintenance techniques.
What we offer
- Hourly rate of £18.34.
- Temporary, ongoing contract with the possibility of extension.
- 36‑hour work week, Monday to Friday.
