Vehicle Technician – Automotive Service Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to join a busy main dealer’s after‑sales team in Romford. The role offers clear progression routes into supervisory and management positions within a respected automotive brand.

Key responsibilities

• Perform servicing, maintenance and repairs to manufacturer standards and timings.
• Produce accurate diagnostic reports and document all work carried out.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area.
• Communicate professionally with colleagues and customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Mentor and support fellow technicians as needed.
• Develop towards assistant manager responsibilities.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
• Minimum 3 years post‑qualification experience in a prestige dealership or similar environment.
• Strong technical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent customer service standards.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of output.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Motivated, target‑driven and adaptable in a busy workshop.

Required skills

• Vehicle servicing and repair.
• Diagnostic equipment operation.
• High‑voltage (EV/Hybrid) systems – preferred.
