Vehicle Technician (HGV & Light Vehicles)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to join a well‑established automotive business in Ferndown. The role offers a Monday‑to‑Friday schedule, competitive salary and the chance to work on a diverse range of vehicles, primarily heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) with occasional lighter‑vehicle projects.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and other vehicles.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and complete diagnostics.
• Identify and resolve vehicle faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
• Ensure all work complies with manufacturer and internal safety standards.
• Provide a professional, friendly service to customers.
• Work both independently and as part of the workshop team.

Required profile

• City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent).
• Minimum three years’ experience as a qualified Vehicle Technician.
• Proven experience working on HGVs.
• Strong mechanical and technical knowledge.
• Positive, can‑do attitude and good attention to detail.

Required skills

• Vehicle diagnostics.
• Operation of diagnostic equipment.
• HGV servicing and repair.
• Knowledge of electric and hybrid vehicle systems (advantageous).

What we offer

• Salary £30,030 – £48,948 per annum, dependent on experience.
• Permanent contract with regular Monday‑to‑Friday hours (8:00‑17:00).
