Vehicle Technician

About the role

Halfords, the UK’s largest automotive service, maintenance and repair business, is looking for a skilled Vehicle Technician to join its Tiverton centre. You will work on a variety of vehicles, performing both routine servicing and more complex repairs.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out standard servicing, diagnostics and fault finding on light vehicles.
• Perform complex repairs such as clutch and timing‑belt replacements.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle electrics, brake, steering and suspension systems.
• Replace components including coolant systems, diesel injectors, head gaskets and electrical parts.
• Maintain a clean, safe workshop and adhere to health and safety standards.

Required profile

• Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent experience.
• Full UK driving licence with no more than 9 penalty points.
• Proven experience in diagnostic work and complex mechanical repairs.
• Ability to work five days a week on‑site in Tiverton.
