Vehicle Technician / Mechanic (Level 3)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Level 3 Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join a busy workshop in Wantage. The role offers stable Monday‑to‑Friday hours, a supportive team, and a clear path for further training and career progression.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical and diagnostic work on a wide range of makes and models.
• Perform major repairs such as clutch replacement and cambelt/timing‑chain work.
• Conduct routine servicing, maintenance, inspections and fault diagnosis using appropriate tools.
• Maintain accurate job records and complete required documentation.
• Adhere to health & safety regulations and workshop procedures.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and, when needed, customers.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
• Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic.
• Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems and diagnostics.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Desirable but not essential: qualified MOT tester and experience with a variety of vehicle brands.
