Vehicle Technician – MOT Tester Path

About the role

Join Halfords Autocentres as a Vehicle Technician, working on a range of vehicle maintenance and repair tasks while progressing towards an MOT Tester qualification.

Key responsibilities

• Perform complex repairs such as clutch and timing belt replacements and conduct advanced diagnostics on electrical, braking, steering and suspension systems.
• Carry out MOT tests to DVSA standards once qualified and ensure all work meets high quality and safety standards.

Required profile

• Minimum Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent) with at least 4 years’ workshop experience.
• Full UK driving licence with no more than 9 penalty points and willingness to undertake MOT Tester training.

Required skills

• Diagnostic troubleshooting of vehicle systems.
• Clutch and timing belt replacement.
• Maintenance of electrical, braking, steering and suspension components.
• MOT testing procedures.
