Veterans Housing Advisor

About the role

We are partnering with a large housing charity to deliver the Government’s VALOUR programme for veterans in the South West. This full‑time, on‑site position is based in a drop‑in centre in Salisbury and provides immediate support to veterans and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Provide housing‑related advice and guidance through a drop‑in service, covering homelessness prevention, tenancy issues, housing applications and affordability concerns.
• Complete housing assessments and develop person‑centred action plans to achieve sustainable housing outcomes.
• Support clients in accessing statutory and community services, including local authority housing teams, welfare benefits, debt advice, health services and specialist veterans’ organisations.
• Maintain accurate records and collaborate with partner agencies, landlords and support services to deliver effective interventions.

Required profile

• Recent experience providing tenancy sustainment or homelessness prevention advice, preferably with veterans.
• Enhanced DBS clearance is mandatory.
• Ability to work Monday‑Friday, 09:00‑17:00 (37.5 hours per week).
